    The Cosmetic and Reconstructive Support (CRS) Program is the only direct service program that the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) offers to survivors. The NCADV works closely in partnership with three medical associations to assist survivors of domestic violence who cannot afford the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and dentistry needed to repair the injuries they have received from a spouse or intimate partner. Facial plastic surgeons, cosmetic dentists and dermatological surgeons from across the country volunteer their services to assist survivors in removing the physical scars of abuse.

    FACE TO FACE Program offers facial plastic and reconstructive surgery to domestic violence survivors to repair injuries on the face, head and neck caused by an intimate partner or spouse. The toll-free number for the FACE TO FACE Program is 1-800-842-4546.

    GIVE BACK A SMILE (GBAS) offers cosmetic dentistry to domestic violence survivors to repair injuries to the front teeth in the “smile zone” caused by an intimate partner or spouse. The toll-free number for the GBAS Program is 1-800-773-GBAS (4227).

    The program sponsored by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) was formally known as the Skin Care Outreach Empowers Survivors or S.C.O.R.E.S. is no longer recognized by ASDS as of 2004 although they still provide volunteers from their membership that offer dermatologic surgery to domestic violence survivors to repair skin injuries (scars, burns, tattoos) on the body caused by an intimate partner or spouse.     HOUSING
    SUBSIDIZED HOUSING

    The subsidized housing is at capacity and waiting lists are often full. Some programs may not be accepting new applications or names for the waiting lists. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers independent living apartments to low income senior citizens, people with disabilities, and families. The federal government subsidizes these units which means that the rent is usually based on approximately 30% of a person's adjusted monthly income. To apply for these units you need to contact each apartment complex directly and have your name placed on a waiting list.     Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA)
    Offers subsidized housing to low income seniors, people with disabilities, and families through the Conventional Housing Program and various Section 8 programs: Conventional Housing is SHRA owned apartments and single-family homes. Rent is approximately 30% of a person's gross monthly income. There are also various Section 8 programs where renters lease privately owned housing in Sacramento City or County. The renters pay the property owner approximately 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent while SHRA pays the difference.     Screening a total of four Sacramento area transitional residence homes for men and women coming out of recovery or treatment program for alcohol and/or drug dependency. Maximum stay of six months enables recovering individuals time to get a job and save money in a clean and sober environment. Residents responsible for buying their own food and doing their own cooking. One live-in staff member.

SFBS is dedicated to helping families achieve long-term stability and economic independence.     A social model transitional housing program for homeless single adults focusing on independent living skills. Intensive case management services, 24-hour a day support services, substance abuse services. Provides preparation for the transition from homelessness to independent living status.     A residential program. The Center's goal is to assist federal ex-offenders, both men and women, to prepare for a smooth transition from prison to community living, to rebuild relationships, acquire steady employment, accumulate funds and re-discover dignity and respect. The Center provides living quarters, food, work adjustment, supervised living, referral to community resources and medical and dental services, transportation, group and individual counseling and personal-social adjustment assistance and evaluation.
